Are you having a few technical issues? Here are some support documents and videos to help you get back on track!
As part of the school’s software licensing agreement with Microsoft, we are able to offer each
student a free copy of the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 for the duration of their time at
Marple Hall. It is linked your school Network Account so will expire once you leave.
It can be installed on up to:
5 PC’s or Mac computers (see below for PC instructions).
5 tablets and 5 phones (see here for instructions).
In order for this to function we need to collect a small amount of data about the devices you install it
on (device name, IP Address etc.).
Please note:
This is only for use on devices that you (or your family) own.
If you have any another version of Microsoft Office installed you will need to remove this
prior to installation. Please consider carefully the implications of doing this.
If you have forgotten your network password you won’t be able to reset this yourself however your ICT/Computing teacher will. Alternatively, you can see one of the Network Support Team members in the Network Office (Located halfway along the Admin Corridor) where they will be happy to reset this for you.
Please ensure you click the Teams icon on either the vertical bar on the left of the screen (on Desktop) or the horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen (on Mobile Device and Chromebook).
The Teams are named after the Class Code found on your Timetable. You simply need to select the Team named after Class you currently have.
The lesson may start any time within the first 10 minutes of the start of the period. This allows Teachers time to get set up, particularly if they have to move rooms between lessons.
Also, check you know what colour week it is and the times of the day. A reminder of the times can be found on the Timetable sent out to all students.
We have found that occasionally when a lesson starts no Join button appears when you are using the Teams App on an iPad. The quickest way to fix this is to Log Out of the app and then log back in straight away.
Here’s a guide explaining how to log out of the Teams App.
Alternatively you can restart and reopen the app. Here are instructions for on how to do this on Apple and Android.
You may also get the error message “Your Admin has disabled audio options”. This issue is caused by the Microsoft Teams App not having permission to use your microphone. To fix this follow the steps below:
Unfortunately multiple Microsoft Accounts don’t always play nicely when used together on a shared computer. There are several different suggestions we’ve got to resolve this and which you choose depends very much on your circumstances.
We’ve made a Help Video that goes through the above options that you may also find useful.
