The Parent Teacher association at Marple Hall is a small friendly group. We have a relaxed, informal approach to supporting school events and raising funds for student led projects which enhance the school environment and facilities.
We meet once or twice per term, either at school or in the local pub, the Railway, 223 Stockport Road, Marple SK6 6EN. At meetings we make plans for forthcoming events and discuss arrangements for spending the money we raise.
At school events, such as the play and music concerts, we provide refreshments (drinks and snacks) and sometimes run a raffle. Volunteers are needed for an hour or two and it’s a great way to feel part of the school community.
We run a ‘Dragon’s Den’ process to decide how to spend the money raised. Groups of students put together pitches with ideas for projects to a PTA member panel, who then award funding. It’s a fantastic way for the students to be at the centre of the way funds are spent.
