Naples Trip

This summer we will be running a trip to soak up the sun, culture and history of Naples, Italy. For 5 days and 4 nights, discover the incredible Mount Vesuvius and the lost city of Pompeii. Explore the ancient Herculaneum, the coastal scenery on a boat trip to Capri, and the local delicacies at both an ice-cream and pizza making activity.

Flights from/to Manchester airport, all transport in Italy, accommodation, meals and activities are included. You will also get a personalised trip T-shirt.

Iceland Trip – Join us on a journey to the land of fire and ice.

Iceland is home to stunning mountain ranges, bubbling volcanoes, vast glaciers and powerful geysers, making this destination a Geographer’s fantasy! A trip to Iceland is a once in a life-time opportunity to explore magical and ever-changing landscapes, from vast areas of wilderness to luxury geothermal lagoons, Iceland has it all.

During our 4-day (3 night) tour of Iceland from 13th-16th July, students will have the opportunity to explore this fascinating tectonic island whilst learning directly inline with the Geography curriculum, complete with the expertise of a local guide and designated subject specialists. From the moment we depart Manchester Airport to the second we return, our journey will be jam-packed with the very best experiences that Iceland has to offer, including a half-day offshore whale watching trip (with the aim of seeing Humpbacks and Orca!), a visit to the Secret Lagoon Thermal Pool, a guided ice-hike up the Solheimajokull Glacier, an interactive experience at FlyOver Iceland, as well as visits to popular waterfalls, black sand beaches, volcanoes and so much more!

Students will stay in a mix of accommodation, from a 4-star city centre hotel, to an evening at a rural lodge, be transported to locations around the island on a private coach, and experience local cuisine a long the way.

PGL Winmarleigh Y7 only

Winmarleigh Hall is set in 50 acres of pretty parkland, near Preston, Lancashire. A rural retreat near the Forest of Bowland.

Year 7 students are invited to take part in 3 days and 2 nights (Monday to Wednesday) of fun packed outdoor activities and team building exercises. Activities may include; abseiling, raft building orienteering, giant swing, archery, problem solving.

Accommodation will be in dormitories with en-suite shower/toilet.

All meals are provided from the buffet style dining room which means children can ‘mix and match’ the items they love most.

Berlin History Trip

The History Department would like to invite your child to participate in our trip to visit Berlin for Enrichment Week 2024! The trip is hoped to be informative and engaging, a great opportunity for those who are passionate about their History. The trip is ideal for any student looking to study GCSE History, allowing them to visit locations covered in the Weimar & Nazi Germany and Cold War topics.

This will be a busy trip supported by an expert historian guide who will be joining us. Flying to Berlin, we will be staying in a hotel in the city that allows students to fully immerse themselves in the historical German capital. Students will spend the trip visiting key historical locations in Berlin such as the Reichstag, the Berlin Wall and the Brandenburg Gate. Students will also spend a day visiting Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp to learn about the impact of the Holocaust in Germany.

Linnet Clough Trip

This three day, two night residential offers an exciting range of team-building activities designed to create memorable experiences and strengthen bonds. Guests will enjoy the thrill of archery, where they can practice precision and focus; climbing, which challenges endurance and problem-solving skills; and a thrilling zip line, offering an adrenaline-pumping adventure with stunning views of the surroundings. Led by our experienced instructors, each activity encourages teamwork, trust, and resilience, making this residential an ideal setting for groups seeking to connect, build confidence, and have a fantastic time together in a supportive environment.

The accommodation includes a comfortable building with several bedrooms. A spacious dining hall and kitchen are available as your base, providing a great space to gather during free time. The building also opens onto a large, connected field that you can enjoy for outdoor activities and relaxation

The London Experience 2025

This trip is a residential visit to our capital city where we will have 3-night stay with bed and breakfast in a London hotel.

We’ll be going to see two top West End shows, take a flight on the London Eye to see the famous sites, visit the Making of Harry Potter Studios Tour, take a trip to London’s Home of Illusions at therecently opened Twist Museum, experience the amazing views and the giant slide at the Arcelor Mittal Orbit, spend some time looking around the Natural History Museum, and we’ll also take a shopping trip to the beautiful Covent Garden. In addition, we’ll eat out in style at some of London’s famous eateries. It promises to be a great experience whether you’ve ever been to London or not. Don’t miss out it will be brilliant!

Humanities tour of Greater Manchester –

Humanities tour of Greater Manchester

Students from Years 7,8 and 9 are invited on a tour of what makes Greater Manchester an amazing place to live. Each day students will experience a different aspect of where they come from by immersing themselves in sport, history and culture.

Activities may include a stadium tour of MCFC paired with a trip to Manchester velodrome,a stadium tour of MUFC paired with a visit to Imperial War Museum North, a day at the Trafford Centre with planned activities and a walking tour of Stockport focusing on its ever changing and important history.

The estimated cost for the trip is £100 which will cover entry fees, travel, activities and (cost dependent relative) spending money.

Madrid Language Trip 2025

The Languages Faculty invites your child to join us on an exciting trip to Madrid, Spain. This trip is open to Year 8 Spanish students who will have the chance to explore the sights, culture, and language of this vibrant city.

Throughout the trip, students will have numerous opportunities to practice speaking Spanish and immerse themselves in authentic Spanish culture. The trip includes breakfast and dinner each day, as well as transport to and from our centrally located hotel from Madrid Airport.

During our stay, we’ll visit iconic locations such as Madrid’s famous bullring, Las Ventas, and the Santiago Bernabéu, the home stadium of Real Madrid. We’ll also take a full-day excursion by private coach to Segovia, where students will enjoy a guided tour of the historic castle and other sites. To finish off our trip, we’ll spend a fun-filled day at Madrid’s theme park, Parque Warner.

The trip includes return flights from Manchester Airport and is scheduled to run from Sunday, 13th July, to Thursday, 17th July. However, we may need to travel on Saturday 12th July, or Monday 14th July, depending on flight availability.

The cost of the trip is estimated to be £960, with a total of 40 places available.

Italy Sports Tour 2025 with PE

Ever wanted to white water raft, visit the San Siro and stay on Lake Garda all in one holiday? Look no further.
The PE Department would like to invite your child to our Italy Sports Tour 2025. On the trip the students will have the opportunity to take part in white water rafting, spend a full day at Caneva Water Park (Verona’s best water park!), half a day excursion to both Milan and Verona. And what’s a trip to Milan without a stadium tour of world-famous San Siro! We are planning on departing the morning of Sunday 13th July and be traveling back the Thursday 17th July (this is an extra night more than other trips running).

In addition to this, the resort we are staying at, Centro Turistico Gardesano, has a pool on site and I still haven’t mentioned we are staying on Lake Garda! We will be traveling by plane.
