We are very excited to be able to offer a wide range of Enrichment visits abroad again as well as in the UK!
There are several residential visits planned for Enrichment Week 2023 which will take place in the last week of the summer term. Please see below for more information.

French Experience – MFL Department Paris Trip 2023
The French Department would like to invite your child to participate in our trip to Paris, France. We will depart school on Sunday 16th July 2023 and travel back to school Thursday 20th July 2023.
On the trip, our students will have lots of opportunities to practise speaking French and immerse themselves in French Culture.
As well as a visit to Disneyland Paris, pupils will visit the Musée D’Orsay, enjoy a trip up the iconic Eiffel Tower and a tour of a chocolate factory / museum. In addition to this our packed itinerary will include a boat trip on the river Seine (Bateau Mouche) and a tour of the most famous Paris sites (Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Montmartre and more!)
We will travel to Paris by coach and stay in a Campanile hotel in Paris. The cost of the visit includes the accommodation on a full-board basis, all entrance fees for the attractions and the return coach and ferry travel. Barcelona Design Trip – Technology Trip 2023
The Technology department are excited to announce the Barcelona Design Trip.
Students from Y7, Y8, and Y9 are invited to join us whilst we explore the sights of Barcelona, taking in the culture and phenomenal architecture of Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell, visiting the Joan Miro Foundation and Picasso Museum, and enjoying the traditions of a LIVE flamenco show accompanied by a tapas meal.
The trip includes return flights from Manchester Airport, coach transfers in Barcelona, Bed and Breakfast accommodation, packed lunches for each day, two evening meals (Hard Rock Café and Tapas), and guided tours, including executive coach transport for each excursion.

Iceland Experience – Geography trip
Join us on a journey to the land of fire and ice.
Iceland is home to stunning mountain ranges, bubbling volcanoes, vast glaciers and powerful geysers, making this destination a Geographer’s fantasy! A trip to Iceland is a once in a life-time opportunity to explore magical and ever-changing landscapes, from vast areas of wilderness to luxury geothermal lagoons, Iceland has it all.
During our 4 day (3 night) trip of Iceland (Sunday – Wednesday), students will have the opportunity to explore this fascinating tectonic island whilst learning directly in line with the Geography curriculum, complete with the expertise of a local guide and designated subject specialists. From the moment we depart Manchester Airport to the second we return, our journey will be jam-packed with the very best experiences that Iceland has to offer, including a visit to the Secret Lagoon Thermal Pool, a guided ice-hike up the Solheimajokull Glacier, a hands on experience at Iceland’s LAVA centre, a journey through the Raufarholshellir Lava Tunnel, as well as visits to popular waterfalls, black sand beaches, volcanoes and so much more!
Students will stay in 4-star accommodation complete with a pool and games room, be transported to locations around the island on a private coach, and fed at our private dining area within our hotel. The cost of this trip also included return flights and baggage from Manchester Airport.”

Science in Paris – Science Department Paris Trip 2023
The Science Department would like to invite your child to participate in our trip to Paris, France. We will depart school on Sunday 16th July 2022 and travel back to school Thursday 20th July 2022.
On the trip, our students will have lots of opportunities see all the sights of Paris while experiencing some science in another country.
Pupils will spend a day in Paris with a boat tour along the Seine, a trip up the Montparnasse tower (with the best view of the Eiffel Tower in the whole of Paris!) as well as a trip to the famous cite de science (science museum). While there we have a viewing in the planetarium booked as well as time to view all of the exhibits covering each strand of science.
We will also visit Disneyland Paris, spending one day in the Disneyland park and another day in the Hollywood Studios park.

Beautiful Belgium!
Join us on a trip to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Famous for Waffles, Chocolate and Fries.
We are planning a 4-day/3-night residential stay where we will visit the famous cities of Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges.
Day One: After exploring the Grand Place (and seeking out the Waffle stands) We will visit the fascinating Atomium, the most popular tourist attraction in Brussels, we’ll also explore Mini Europe and then get to see the famous Belgian Chocolate being made at Planete Chocolate (and hopefully get a taste)!
Day Two: We will explore the fascinating city of Antwerp, the hub of the diamond industry and home to the 2nd largest port in Europe. There, we will also visit the MAS Museum (The MAS aims to be an international and pioneering museum about the global connectedness between people and collections from different cultures and environments. With a river of tales, viewed from multiple perspectives, we engage everyone to be curious about the present, past and future of Antwerp and the world.) We will also do a spot of sightseeing, soaking up the Antwerp atmosphere before taking a look around the Coca Cola plant and visitors centre.
On day three we will travel to Bruges (the Venice of the North) for a boat cruise along its famous canals, before returning home.
It promises to be a great trip packed with fun, culture, sweet things, breath-taking views and architecture, fascinating sights and a fantastic experience for all.
The cost of the trip including travel and full board accommodation will be around £460. We will leave on Sunday 16th July, returning on Wednesday 19th July 2023.

London Drama Experience
The Drama Department would like to invite your child to participate in our trip to London from Mon 17th July Wednesday 19th July 2023. It is hoped the trip will be educationally beneficial as well as great fun!
The trip is designed to fully immerse students into the performing arts. On the trip, our students will have lots of opportunities to develop their performance skills, experience a range of theatrical opportunities and see how Drama can be put into practice, both on stage and film. Activities include; 90 Minute Westend Workshop, 2 x Theatre Performances (One being Wicked!), A visit to The Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour, A visit to Shrek’s immersive adventure, a tour of the National Theatre and evening meals at restaurants like “The Hard Rock Café”.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Y9 only
Training for the expedition section of the DofE takes place in enrichment week. We will be inviting students from year 9 only to apply to take part after October half term. If you are selected, you cannot go on any of the other trips as you must do the training.

The likely total cost will be £150. This will include all travel, food and campsite fees during enrichment week. It also includes a professional first aid course tailored to suit DofE expeditions.
It also covers registration onto the DofE and all future expedition fees in Year 10.
PGL Boreatton Park Y7 only
Boreatton Park is PGL’s largest and most popular centre set around an imposing mansion house and an impressive 240 acres of land.
Year 7 students are invited to take part in 3 days and 2 nights (Monday to Wednesday)of fun packed outdoor activities and team building exercises. Activities may include; abseiling, raft building orienteering, giant swing, archery, problem solving.
Accommodation will be in the ‘Tall Timber’ lodges where each room has en-suite shower/toilet.
All meals are provided from the buffet style dining room which means children can ‘mix and match’ the items they love most.

Sports Trip- PE Department Italy Trip 2023
Sun, Sea, Rugby, Football, Netball and Water sports, what’s not to love?
The PE Department would like to invite your child to our Sports (and water sports) Italy Trip 2023. We are planning on departing the evening of the 15th July (to be confirmed) and be traveling back the Wednesday 19th July. On the trip the students will have the opportunity to take part in professional coaching sessions in their chosen sports (Netball, Rugby, Football) along with Kayaking, SUP, Winfsurfing and Sailing in the Adriatic ! We will also be planning an excursion to a water park ! In addition to this, the resort we are staying at, Bella Italia Village, has two pools on site all the, all sports facillities you could wish for AND its own beach ! Currently our plan is to travel by coach.
