Rights
Our rules are based on three basic rights:
• The right to learn or teach
• The right to be respected
• The right to feel safe In every classroom there is a poster showing our classroom rules, our rewards and the consequences if students do not follow the rules
Responsibilities
It is everyone’s responsibility to respect the rights of themselves and others.Students should not bring to school:
• anything illegal to buy or possess
• aerosols
• matches / lighters
• thick felt-tip pens
• personal electronic equipment eg. i-pods
• correcting fluid
• chewing or bubble gum
Our policy on mobile phones and any other electronic device capable of recording and storing images is that:
• Mobiles are not to be used at any time in the school day, including breaks and lunchtime, even to check the time.
• If parents/carers need to urgently contact children in the school day then a message via the school office will be passed to them.
• The school accepts no responsibility for loss or theft.
• No photographic equipment of any sort may be used on site without permission.
• If mobiles are seen or heard during the day then they will be confiscated and returned only to a parent or carer. The image files may have to be checked before return.
• There are very strict rules about mobiles in examinations and students will be reminded of these.
• MP3/4, i-pods etc are not allowed in school at any time. The school site includes the layby.
